Who are we?

The Israeli Institute of Packaging is a non-profit organization that promotes and coordinates the field of packaging in Israel. It is a member of the Consumer Products and Construction Association and serves as a knowledge center for the industry. Its members include professionals from various fields such as packaging manufacturers, consultants, designers, machine manufacturers, logistics, academics, and consumers from various segments such as food, cosmetics, pharma, etc.

Goals and vision

The Israeli Institute of Packaging aims to be a leading knowledge center for the field of packaging in Israel. It promotes innovation and creativity in packaging development through various professional activities such as courses, webinars, and conferences. Additionally, it places a strong emphasis on sustainability and protecting the environment. It provides guidance and tools such as training courses and guides for sustainable packaging. The institute serves as a platform for connecting professionals in the field of packaging development and works with authorities to promote regulation, financing, and incentives related to packaging design and development.

The official representative of the World Packaging Organization – WPO

The Israeli Institute of Packaging is an active member of the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and is part of its executive committee. The Institute participates in the WPO's activities and professional meetings, keeping informed and updated on the latest trends and developments in the field. As the official and exclusive representative of WPO in Israel, the institute holds an annual competition "The Star of Israel" for innovation in packaging. The winners of this competition are eligible to compete in the WorldStar global competition against other packaging manufacturers from around the world.

Chairman of the Packaging Institute and member of the management team at WPO -World Packaging Organization, is a consultant in the fields of packaging with an emphasis in the areas of development, environmental quality, innovation and efficiency – Packtech.co.il. For about 25 years she led the field of packaging in international companies – for 18 years she managed the Packaging development unit at Strauss group and before that, 7 years at Unilever. She is also Lecturer at the Technion, conducts courses and workshops in organizations, and is invited as a regular guest to international conferences as a lecturer and judge in international competitions.

Yossi Bloom

Creative director at Osem-Nestle Studio

A designer specializing in food packaging and a painter. He manages the design strategy for several well-known Osem brands, including Bamba and Bissli, as well as Nestle brands under his studio. He has designed for Sabra, Nestle ice creams, Purina, Bishulim recipe website, and the Nestle Fitness brand. He graduated from Vital College in 1988 as a visual communication and packaging designer for Osem company. Since 2005, he has been managing Osem-Nestle Studio.

A retired Chief Engineer from Agrexco. He held various positions during his tenure at Agrexco, including Director of the Development Department, Director of the Vegetable Marketing Department, and Chief Engineer in the field of conveying and packaging. He now owns a private consulting company focused on packaging and conveying and works with the Air Force and Clalit HMO. He is also the author of a book on packaging for the Export Institute, which is considered the only comprehensive book on the subject.

An experienced professional in the packaging industry, holding various leadership positions throughout his career. He served as the CEO of Frenkel & Sons until 2006, CEO of Frenkel CD from 2006 to 2013, and currently serves as the CEO of Infinya Packaging since 2013. He is an engineer with MBA degree.

Packaging Institute Management

The management of the Israeli Institute of Packaging is composed of individuals from prominent positions in the Israeli packaging industry, representing various areas such as metal, paper and cardboard, plastic, and glass packaging. The board members also represent companies involved in various stages of packaging development, from manufacturers and designers to major market players and brand owners that use packaging. Additionally, members of the institute also come from the Consumer Products and Construction Association of the Manufacturers Association.
